PENTICTON - Two separate weapons incidents on Eckhardt Avenue on the same day kept Penticton RCMP on their toes last week.

Police executed a search warrant to 576 Eckhardt Ave. where two prolific offenders were arrested with several charges pending, Penticton RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Ted Manchulenko says. Police found weapons, ammunition, stolen items, drugs and drug paraphernalia during their search of the premises. RCMP continue to investigate.

Later the same day, police were called to another Eckhardt Avenue address after a man complained of being threatened with a handgun around 7:30 p.m. Manchulenko says police responded with a 'heightened sense of awareness' to the incident because they had no way of knowing whether the weapon was real or not.

Police found a man with a replica pellet handgun and rifle. The man cooperated with police but was arrested and charged with uttering threats and firearms offences. Police continue to investigate the incident.
