A person assaulted in Vernon’s Polson Park last night was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
Officers were called to Polson Park at approximately 8:30 p.m. yesterday, July 9, to a report of an assault, according to an RCMP media release.
The adult was badly hurt and taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital. The person is in stable condition.
During the police investigation a portion of the park was closed to the public.
“The information we have at this point is that this is a targeted incident and there is no known risk to the public,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.
