Serial peeping Tom sentenced to time served for sexual assault

KELOWNA – A Kelowna man with a history of voyeurism was sentenced Monday morning for having sex with a woman against her will last fall.

Ryan John Allan Holt, 29, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman when she came over to watch a movie with him.

According to crown lawyer Angela Ross, Holt invited the woman over and when she declined his offer for sex, he “began getting touchy, feely.

“He told her he was kind of horny and wanted to get laid," she said in provincial court Monday, April 11.

She said no but that did not stop him.

“(He) took off her clothes and got on top of her and started having sex with her,” she said.

Holt, who has lived at Gospel Mission and has cognitive disabilities, has been convicted for voyeurism four times and has numerous breaches of parole on his record. He was on parole during the most recent assault.

He has been in custody at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre since his arrest 154 days ago and was sentenced to time already served. He was also put on three year’s probation and ordered to attend drug, alcohol and sex counselling.
