PENTICTON - The mayoral race could get a little heated by the end of the week, depending on whether one councillor decides to follow her peers and run for mayor.

Coun. Judy Sentes says her name will be on the ballot, but she's not sure yet if she'll run for council or the mayor's seat.

The two-term councillor expects to have her decision made later this week and will make a public announcement.

If Sentes does run for mayor, that will leave four open seats on council since Coun. Andrew Jakubeit and Coun. John Vassilaki both announced they will be running for mayor and Counc. Wes Hopkin isn't seeking reelection following this term.

Coun. Katie Robinson and Coun. Helena Konanz are, at this point, the only councillors seeking reelection for their councillor positions.

Mayor Garry Litke will stick to his plan to announce his election intentions on Tuesday Oct. 7.
