The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened near Hope, connecting several communities.
Highway 1 between Boothroyd and Hope reopened last night, Nov. 21, but the Ministry of Transportation is warning drivers to expect delays and be prepared construction conditions and reduced speed limits, according to a Ministry of Transportation press release.
"The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s highway maintenance contractor will continue to remove debris and repair road surfaces to restore the highway to normal condition," reads the press release.

"While this section of Highway 1 through the Yale, Spuzzum and Boston Bar communities areas does not currently fall under the province’s travel restrictions order, drivers are asked to limit travel to essential purposes only while cleanup and repairs continue."
Highway 99 and Highway 3 are currently the only routes available that connect the Lower Mainland to the Interior. They are currently open to essential travel only.
