KAMLOOPS – A woman with previous warrants and a connection to last week’s shooting that left a Mountie in hospital will likely be released on bail, as long as she can meet bail requirements.
Marquee Jasmin Klim, 28, appeared by video in Kamloops Provincial Court Thursday morning for an obstruction of justice charge from Dec. 3. Police allege she gave officers a false name as they were searching for the man who shot Cpl. Jean-Rene Michaud, after he was pulled over for a traffic stop in a white Chrysler Intrepid.
Kenneth Michael Knutson, 36, faces four charges including attempted murder. He is due in court Dec. 18.
She is scheduled for a bail hearing Dec. 15. Crown may release her if she provides an acceptable bail plan.
Klim faces six other unrelated charges from Vernon, including breaking and entering and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Both Knutson and Klim are prohibited from contacting each other along with Jeffrey Milne, Angela Kapral, Tyler Norman and Brittany Van Basten.
