KELOWNA - A Kelowna man is facing criminal charges after police seized cocaine and cannabis in a 2018 search warrant.

The drug section of the Kelowna RCMP found over a pound of illicit cocaine and nearly 20 pounds of marijuana bud as the result of a search warrant.

A media release today, Jan. 29, says the drugs were being kept in a home located in the 100 block of Applecrest Court. The search took place on June 27, 2018.

The warrant was related to an active criminal investigation into suspected drug trafficking.

“During the execution of the warrant, investigators seized over a pound of powdered cocaine, along with approximately twenty pounds of marijuana bud,” Cpl. Jeff Carroll says in the release. “A conducted energy weapon or taser, various drug paraphernalia items commonly used in the trafficking of controlled substances and Canadian currency was also seized by police from the residence.”

Steven Grande, 44, of Kelowna has now been formally charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. He is expect to appear in court this November.
