Search for missing Merritt man continues six years after disappearance

KAMLOOPS - The search for a 44-year-old Merritt man who went missing six years ago near Kamloops continued this past weekend.

Tk’emlups RCMP and multiple search and rescue teams continue to search for Dean Morrison of Merritt, according to an RCMP media release. Morrison went missing in October 2013 in the Stump Lake area south of Kamloops.

On Oct. 12, RCMP officers along with search and rescue volunteers from Kamloops, Clearwater and the Shuswap searched for Morrison.

RCMP say they looked in areas previously searched as well as new areas.

No clues to his whereabouts were discovered, and the RCMP will continue to investigate his disappearance.
