KELOWNA - An injured mountain biker was extracted from Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park yesterday afternoon by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.

The mountain biker was part of a large group when he crashed near the top end of Lost Lake Trail yesterday, Aug. 7, the search group said on its Facebook page. When group members realized his injuries were beyond their capabilities they called 911.

More than a dozen members responded, with two e-bike riders making first contact via June Springs Road.

The UTV team transported two B.C. Ambulance paramedics to the rider’s location where he was packaged for transport and brought to a waiting ambulance.

The man was being treated in Kelowna General Hospital, search and rescue said.
