KELOWNA - Search and rescue crews were seen towing a boat from Manhattan Point into the Kelowna Yacht Club about 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 8.

Witness Brenda Bachmann saw a helicopter hovering low over the water then moving back and forth between the point and City Park as a search and rescue boat pulled what looked like a sailboat into shore. By 3 p.m. the helicopter still seemed to be searching.

“I sure hope nobody went overboard,” Bachmann said, noting it was very windy out on Okanagan Lake.
