KELOWNA - The first day of summer is officially on Thursday, but it definitely feels like summer today.
Environment Canada says a building ridge of high pressure will bring sunny skies and warmer weather over the next few days in the Okanagan. A special weather statement giving people a heads up about the unseasonably hot weather was issued on Sunday.
Today, June 18, the mercury is expected to top out at around 32 Celsius today, 33 C tomorrow, with lots of sunshine both days.
Wednesday and Thursday bring a chance of showers, with an additional chance of thundershowers on Thursday.
A high of 31 C is anticipated Wednesday and 29 C expected on Thursday.
Friday expect to see a mix sun and cloud and a high of 27 C.
Normally at this time of year we can expect high temperatures around 24 C in the Okanagan.
