School's back on Monday, but it's going to be much different

March 27, 2020 - 4:40 PM

School returns after spring break Monday, but students, teachers and parents will have to adjust to new learning and teaching methods.

Since schools have been shut down because of COVID-19, school districts across the province have been tasked with creating alternate education methods — essentially teaching kids while they're at home.

Every school district will have slightly different plans in place, so be sure to check your email to find updates from your local school district, if you have kids in school.

One Kamloops elementary school has special plans for when school resumes.

Staff of Juniper Ridge Elementary in Kamloops are planning a 'Community Staff Parade' inviting teachers and staff to decorate their vehicles to travel a route through the Juniper Ridge neighbourhood to mark the return. They're inviting parents with students to join them in their own cars.

The staff and others participating will meet at 12:45 p.m. at the school.
