PENTICTON - The Okanagan Skaha school board is going to close three schools in the district.

The final decision on the fate of Trout Creek Elementary School in Summerland, and West Bench Elementary School and McNicoll Park Middle School in Penticton, was made at last night's school board meeting, March 30.

Trustees passed third reading and adopted a motion which will see the schools close their doors on June 30.

The board passed the first two readings of the motion to shut down the three schools following a review of options at a public meeting held on March 9.

A protest regarding the school closures took place in front of the school board offices on Tuesday.
