Salmon Arm's Roots and Blues Festival has announced its lineup for this summer's edition.

From Jul 26 to 28, Salmon Arm's Roots and Blues Festival will host a myriad of musicians including Sarah McLachlan who had been part of last year's lineup, according to a festival society media release issued today, March 11.

Because of wildfires, the festival was cancelled last year, but McLachlan is ready to give her fans the show they have been long waiting for.

“So many people, me included, were looking forward to hearing Sarah McLachlan’s iconic songs ring through Salmon Arm last summer. We’re thrilled that she and so many other incredible artists from across the world are able to come back this year,” Kevin Tobin, artistic director, of Salmon Arm Folk Music Society, said in the release.

“Our mission has always been to bring world-class and culturally diverse music to Salmon Arm. With the artists we’ve confirmed for the 32nd annual festival so far, I think we’ve done that even better this year.”

McLachlan is a seasoned musician who's been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and her ballads have earned her three Grammy Awards along with 12 Juno Awards, but she won't be the only critically acclaimed musician at the festival.

Canada's Amanda Marshall will also be at the festival bringing songs like Let It Rain, Sunday Morning After and Birmingham with her. She is a Diamond-certified and three-time platinum-certified recorder.

This edition of the Roots and Blues Festival will also welcome Five Alarm Funk, Begonia and Miko Marks bringing rhythm and blues, pop and country music to the festival.

The Kootenays' Moontricks will also be there along with jazz duo Blue Moon Marquee, Lido Pimienta, Juno-nominated Oji-Cree, Aysanabee and DJ Shub who will perform his album War Club live at the festival.

“There will be more artists, workshops and family activities announced in the coming weeks, including the return of our Indigenous artist highlight on the Plulk’w Place stage,” Tobin said. “With this incredible lineup and more on the horizon, this is shaping up to be a great summer for music in Salmon Arm.”

The full lineup and passes for the festival are now available on the Roots and Blues Festival website here or by phone at 250-833-4096.
