After following COVID protocols for the past two years, the previously annual Santa Claus parade is returning to Penticton.

The city is hoping local businesses and organizations will want to enter floats again, and is also reaching out to volunteers.

“After a two-year hiatus, the City of Penticton is pleased to bring back the Santa Claus Parade to town,” Mayor Julius Bloomfield said in a press release issued today, Nov. 3.

“A tradition for more than 20 years, this is a chance for the community to once again come together during the festive season. For some, it will rekindle memories of old, for many others, it will be a chance to create new memories, and for all of us, it’s an opportunity to embrace the spirit of the season.”

Business and organization that want to have a float in the parade have to apply by 4 p.m. Nov. 25. Information and application forms are available through the city website here.

Volunteers will be needed for barricade intersection control, marshalling assistance and parade route support.
