SALMON ARM - Salmon Arm police arrested a man with more than 40 outstanding charges across Canada last week, capturing him after he was at large for nearly three years.
According to a press release, Salmon Arm RCMP officers located a man, whose name has not been provided, at an unidentified shopping center parking lot in Salmon Arm on May 29. The man was known to police as someone who has been unlawfully at large since September 2016 when he escaped a provincial institution. The specific location of the institution was not provided.
The man had no identification on him and provided an incorrect name. Police identified him by his distinctive tattoos and arrested him on outstanding warrants.
The man has more than 40 outstanding charges from Ontario, Alberta, and other western provinces. The nature and date of his charges have not been disclosed. He was remanded back into police custody on May 30.
