Kamloops RCMP are investigating a break and enter that occurred last night in lower Sahali resulting in thousands of dollars of stolen residential property.
A 38-year-old Kamloops woman reported a break and enter and theft after returning home about 10 p.m. last night to find a large quantity of gold and jewellery missing from her home on Fernie Place.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said in a press release that the suspect or suspects broke into the woman's home through a side garage door before rifling through the rooms, leaving behind no cupboard, drawer and closet.
A forensic specialist was called to the home this morning in hopes of finding information that could lead to a suspect and susbequent charges.
RCMP are also following up with pawn shops, jewellery stores and gold exchange outlets in case there is an attempt to obtain an evaluation or sell the stolen goods.
