A popular History Channel TV show is wrapping up filming for its third season and yesterday Rust Valley Restorers production crews were spotted in Lake Country.

Mike Hall, also known as the Rasta Blasta, is the host of the show, and said crews were doing some filming in Lake Country's Okanagan Centre neighbourhood yesterday, Feb. 3, since it was a nice sunny day.

In the Shuswap community of Tappen where he lives, and where he became famous for a five-acre parcel filled with old cars, it was snowing. That doesn’t make for the greatest film weather, Hall said.

Crews are wrapping up filming today in Kamloops.

Each episode focuses on Hall and his team of mechanics trying to restore broken-down cars to their former glory.

COVID-19 has posed numerous challenges for the film crews.

They were shut down twice in 2020, once in March and then over the Christmas break, Hall said.

The pandemic has also made it challenging to source parts to restore the old cars.

New episodes of the third season of Rust Valley Restorers begin airing on Feb. 18. For a full list of the schedule visit History Channel’s website here. They will also be available for streaming on Stack TV.
