VERNON – Vernon firefighters were called to rescue a man who had fallen down a steep hill in Polson Park Saturday morning.

Fire captain Dan Walker says they called out at about 11:30 a.m., Aug. 08 to help a man who was “unresponsive on the side of a hill” in Polson Park in Vernon.

The man had fallen about 40 feet down a steep slope in the park.

Walker says crews rigged up a basket stretcher to get the man up the hill and into an ambulance.

No word on the extent of the victim’s injuries.
