Several opportunities are creeping up around Kamloops and the Okanagan for fans of the Rocky Horror Picture Show to see the film.

When fans of the 1975 film get together, they're known for enthusiastically dressing up as the characters, throwing toast and toilet paper in the theatre, and dancing to the Time Warp

Most events take place the weekend before Halloween.

In Kamloops, a screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show is happening at the Paramount Theatre on Oct. 28. The Kamloops Film Society, which is hosting the event, also has Rocky Horror prop bags for sale online.

Several screenings of the movie are happening at the Towne Theatre in downtown Vernon on Oct. 28, 29 and 30.

In the South Okanagan, the vintage Oliver Theatre is hosting a screening party on Oct. 29.

“We love this movie – it is such a classic and has such a huge following,” Oliver Theatre owner Lyle Miller said.

Miller holds the unique celebration every year but had to take a two-year break due to the pandemic.

“It has been a hard time through COVID but we are back and cannot wait for a great night," he said. "The costumes and props are a blast. We even sell prop bags with all the things you will need for the show.”

For anyone in the mood to enjoy a live performance of the show, Cat's Paw Productions, a Penticton musical theatre company, is rehearsing now for a string of shows starting on Nov. 24.
