Rocks on Highway 97 north of Vernon are causing delays this afternoon.

DriveBC initially reported the issue at around 1:20 p.m. today, Sept. 23.

There are rocks on the road on Highway 97 between Old Kamloops Road and St. Annes Road for 9.1 kilometres, roughly seven to 16 km north of Vernon, according to DriveBC.

The road has been reduced to single lane alternating traffic and DriveBC is warning drivers to expect delays and watch for traffic control.

Crews are working to clear the rocks from the highway.
