The Kelowna Rockets are right back in action following the Christmas break when they host the Kamloops Blazers tonight.

The Rockets are 1-2-0-0 so far this season against their next door neighbour.

All three games were decided by lopsided scores. The Rockets opened the season with a 9-2 loss in Kamloops, before responding the very next night with a 5-1 victory over the Blazers in Prospera Place. The two met once more on November 1st, and that game showed a 5-1 final in Kamloops' favour.

The Rockets and Blazers will play each other seven more times this season including tonight's game.

The Rockets enter the game with a 22-12-2-0 record that has them sitting in second place with 46 points, eight points back of division leaders the Prince George Cougars who have 54.

The Blazers enter the game with a 21-13-1-1 record that has them nipping at the Rockets heels with 44 points for third in the B.C. division.

Kelowna and Kamloops will battle two nights in a row as the Rockets visit the Blazers on Wednesday night.

Kelowna will be without forwards Dillon Dube, Tomas Soustal, and Calvin Thurkauf as they are away at the World Junior's until the New Year.

The Rockets will be without those three players when they take home ice again after tonight's game, on December 30th when they host the Victoria Royals at Prospera Place.

Tickets are available for Rockets home games through www.selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
