Rocket Goulbourne signs entry-level deal with Philadelphia Flyers

KELOWNA - Kelowna Rockets forward Tyrell Goulbourne has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 21-year-old Edmonton native was a third-round selection of the Flyers, 72nd overall, in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Goulbourne is currently in his fifth season with the Rockets and according to a media release, this is his best season offensively for Kelowna. He's recorded 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points in 55 games so far. He also recorded 55 goals and 63 assists for 118 points along with 454 PIM in his 268 career games with Kelowna.

In 2009 Goulbourne joined the Rockets when he was drafted in the fifth round of the WHL Bantam draft. During his time in Kelowna, he's become one of the most popular Rockets, known for his energetic style of play, the release says.

The Rockets play in Everett tonight, taking on the Silvertips.
