PENTICTON - One of contemporary music’s more successful artists is coming to the South Okanagan Events Centre this August.

Grammy Award winner Rob Thomas will be making an appearance at the centre on August 31, on a tour showcasing the release of his third solo album, “The Great Unknown,” in 2015.

Thomas has been lead singer and composer for Matchbox Twenty for the past two decades achieving multiplatinum success, producing four albums and a number of top hits including “Push,” “3AM,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” and “Unwell.”

Thomas is the first artist ever to be honoured with the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s “Hal David Starlight Award,” recognizing composers whose early works have already made lasting impact.

Tickets for Rob Thomas go on sale Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m., available at Valley First box office at the events centre, via phone at 1-877-763-2849, or online at ValleyFirstTix.com

Ticket prices are $64, $74 and $94.
