Risk of frost this week in Kamloops, Okanagan

Gardeners will want to take note there is a very good chance of frost in the Okanagan and Kamloops tomorrow night.

The overnight temperatures are expected to drop to a frosty -2 Celsius in the Okanagan and Kamloops overnight on Wednesday, Oct. 13, according to the latest forecast from Environment Canada.

On a positive note, coming out of the frigid night, Thursday is forecast to be sunny, albeit chilly, with a daytime high of around 10 C.

Environment Canada is calling for increasing cloud in the Okanagan today with a high of 8 C in Vernon and Kelowna, and a high of 12 in Penticton. Kamloops is expected a high of 9 C today with a 60% chance of showers.

Tomorrow there is a 60% chance of showers in Kamloops and the Okanagan with a high of 10 C. Overnight, the temperature will plummet to below 0 C with frost possibility.

After a sunny day on Thursday, rain will move in on Friday and into the weekend with temperatures moderating to more normal values for this time of year.

Normal temperatures for mid-October in the Okanagan and Kamloops are highs of around 13 C and lows of 3 C.
