The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra (OSO) is thrilled to share the stage with the Okanagan Handbell Chorus for a special Christmas performance, 'Ringing in the Season.'

By popular demand, we welcome back thirteen of BC’s most accomplished handbell ringers to ring in the holiday season with an evening of sparkling music. Anthony Lau will also join the festivities performing such seasonal classics as Panis Angelicus and O Holy Night on the classical harmonica.

Performance and ticket information are as follows:

  • Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre/Thursday, December 21, 7:00 pm.
    • VPAC box office 250.549.7469.
  • Kelowna Community Theatre (KCT) / Friday, December 22, 7:30 pm
    • Kelowna Tickets 250.862.2867
  • Penticton at the Cleland Theatre / Saturday, December 23 2:00 pm
    • Shatford Centre (in person) or by phone 888.974.9170

Tickets for all shows are also available online at www.okanagansymphony.com.

Handbells were originally designed as practice instruments for bell tower ringers and handbell choirs have become a worldwide tradition. From the sparkle of the smallest bell to the booming resonance of the largest bell, the acoustic brilliance of the full bell choir is thrilling to hear live. This performance combines the magical sound of the bells with all the colours of the orchestra to perform wonderful arrangements of well loved carols that will put everyone in a festive mood.

“We are all very excited to present Anthony Lau on classical harmonica and to welcome back the Okanagan Handbell Chorus” says OSO Music Director Rosemary Thomson. “The last time they were with us the combined sound of the bells and orchestra was glorious and I can’t wait to share the stage with the ringers again.”

See it, Hear it, Love it!
