KAMLOOPS - Whether you're in the mood for some barbecue, classic cars or music, there's a little bit of everything around Kamloops this weekend.

The annual Kamloops Ribfest kicks off at Riverside Park tomorrow, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. Along with the assortment of saucy ribs cooked by champion ribbers, there will be vendors in the area and a nearby kids zone for the little ones. There will also be live entertainment from tribute bands.

For more information on Kamloops Ribfest, go here.

The other main event this weekend is Hot Nite in the City, with the show and shine kicking off Saturday at 10 a.m. downtown. Classic and custom cars will be lining the streets and for the second year, Kamloops's Electric Avenue will showcase hybrid and electric vehicles.

It'll be a busy Saturday downtown — along with the two events listed above, the Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival will also be kicking off. The festival will begin at 8:30 a.m. and finals will wrap up at 4 p.m. For more information, go here.

This is also the last weekend the downtown pedestrian plaza pilot project is in place on 4 Avenue. The plaza has seating areas, planters, and street games for pedestrians to enjoy. Musicians and performers are also performing through the trial period which wraps up this Sunday.

Country artist George Canyon will be performing at New Country 103.1's birthday celebration at the B.C. Wildlife Park at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
