A passenger with COVID-19 flew on a plane from Calgary to Kelowna this month, according to the latest reports from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
WestJet flight 3387 from Calgary to Kelowna, May 5, had a case affecting seat 5A, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control. On April 29, WestJet flight 3343 also had a COVID-19 case affecting seat 6C, according to the BC CDC.
Effective March 27, the BC CDC is no longer directly contacting passengers from domestic flights who were seated near a confirmed case during the flight.

"Passengers in the affected seats...’ may have been exposed to COVID-19 and should self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days following the flight. Other passengers are not required to self-isolate but should self-monitor for onset of symptoms for 14 days after the flight," according to the BC CDC.
WestJet has removed roughly 4,000 weekly flights or 600 daily flights from May 5 through June 4. "These changes are required to address significantly reduced guest demand during the COVID-19 crisis," according to its website. All WestJet transborder and international routes remain suspended at this time to June 4.
