A heavily armed tactical team was deployed in Salmon Arm today to assist police with the execution of a pair of high-risk warrants at two separate properties.

Just before 11 a.m. today, Jan. 7, both frontline officers and plainclothes investigators attended two separate properties in Salmon Arm located in the 400-block of 22 St. N.E. and the 1300-block of 30 Street S.E. alongside members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP do not explain what the warrants were for and will only say they were related to an ongoing criminal investigation.

The operation ended without incident, police say. Two individuals were taken into custody during the execution of the warrants and a third individual connected to the case was already in police custody on an unrelated matter and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police say all three male suspects; a 39-year-old from Canoe, a 28-year-old from Salmon Arm and a 27-year-old from Salmon Arm all remain in custody.

The suspects each face potential criminal charges. RCMP do not say what those charges would be.
