PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP stopped two thieves in their tracks earlier today.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in a media release two men are in custody after attempting a break and enter at a Westbench home this morning, March 23.

The homeowner was in the residence at the time of the break-in, which occurred around 10:30 a.m. Police were notified and responded to the location where the resident was able to give police a description of the suspect vehicle after it fled the scene.

Moskaluk says officers were able to stop the vehicle in the Westbench area and arrest the suspects without incident. Additional police personnel were called in to secure the scene and seize the suspect vehicle, a brown 2002 Chevy Blazer.

The two men remain in custody. The police investigation so far indicates the residence involved in the incident was targeted, Moskaluk says.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed any aspect of this incident, or who may have seen the suspect’s vehicle, to contact police at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
