KELOWNA – Three Vernon residents are facing drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop at a Kelowna mall turned up four lbs. of marijuana and a loaded gun.
RCMP say officers pulled over a car in the Orchard Park Mall parking lot on Wednesday, May 11, after they suspected the vehicle was used in a Vernon robbery.
The Nissan sedan did indeed turn out to be linked to the robbery the day before and police arrested the 37-year-old woman driver and a 24-year-old man “associated with the vehicle,” according to a RCMP media release.
There was a third suspect, a man, but RCMP aren’t releasing his age.
Officers found nearly four lbs. of marijuana and a loaded firearm in the car, police say.
All three suspects are from Vernon and are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon.
