RCMP seize drugs, weapons and stolen bicycles from Kelowna home

Police seized a stash of illicit drugs, weapons and suspected stolen property from a  Kelowna home yesterday.

The Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Rutland Road South yesterday, Aug. 26, related to an active criminal investigation into suspected drug trafficking, according to an RCMP media release. 

“During their search of the home, police seized quantities of suspected illicit drugs including suspected fentanyl and cocaine from inside the residence,” Kelowna RCMP Const. Solana Paré said in the release. “Our officers seized a variety of weapons including imitation firearms and a large amount of cash, as well as several bicycles believed to be recovered stolen property.”

Six individuals were taken into custody during the search of the residence, but were later released unconditionally without charge, pending further investigation, RCMP said.

The matter will be submitted to Public Prosecution Service of Canada for consideration of charges.
