OSOYOOS - Osoyoos RCMP are on the hunt for a man wanted on several province-wide warrants and numerous outstanding charges.
Osoyoos RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda said in a press release issued this afternoon, Nov. 22, police are seeking public assistance in locating 21-year-old Kael Austin Svendsen. He is wanted on eight province-wide warrants as of Oct. 24.
HIs alleged crimes include careless use of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm, one count of escaping lawful custody, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of mischief under $5,000, two counts of break and enter, two counts of assault, two counts of fraud under $5,000, two counts of breach of undertaking and eight counts of possession of stolen property.
RCMP describe Svendsen as a Caucasian male, 5'9" tall, 160 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.
Svendsen was placed under numerous conditions in September, including 24-hour house arrest while he awaited trial. He breached those conditions and has yet to be caught by police.
He is believed to frequent the Osoyoos and Oliver areas.
If you know the whereabouts of Svendsen, or see him, do not approach him but instead call 911 or Crime Stoppers and refer to Osoyoos RCMP file #2017-6698.
