UPDATE: RCMP locate remains missing man in Invermere area

Columbia Valley RCMP officers have located the remains of Wilmer's Martin Baker after he was reported missing Sept. 2.

Martin Baker, 55, was last seen at approximately 8 a.m., Sept. 2, when he left his home in Wilmer near Invermere in the east Kootenay with his dog for a walk, according to an RCMP media release. Police officers were called shortly after 3 p.m. when Baker and Rusty didn't return home.

RCMP officers and Columbia Valley Search and Rescue volunteers located his remains near Wilmer Lake Aug. 3. Rusty was found in good health and spirits.
