RCMP search for suspect of 'undetermined sex' after armed robbery at North Shore restaurant

KAMLOOPS - Police are searching for a suspect after responding to an armed robbery at a Chinese restaurant on the North Shore yesterday, July 15.

Const. Jason Epp, a spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP, says a person of 'undetermined sex' brandished a hand gun at Lee’s Garden on Fortune Drive and demanded cash from the register around 9 p.m. The suspect left with a small amount of cash and there were no injuries to staff members.

The K-9 unit attempted to track the person’s scent, but the suspect managed to evade investigators and is still at large.

Epp says the suspect has feminine features but a masculine voice and is 20 to 25 years old, weighs about 100 pounds and is 5’1” tall. The suspect had earrings in both ears, short brown hair, tattoos on both arms and wore black pants, a black shirt, a black hat, sunglasses and a black handkerchief over the lower face. The person also had a grey backpack with yellow and red designs on it.

The investigation remains ongoing. Members of the public with information on this robbery are asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
