An early morning robbery at a licensed cannabis grow op in Sicamous ended with the arrest of a suspect near Enderby following a police manhunt.

A shot was fired during a robbery at a medical cannabis production facility in Sicamous when a property representative confronted the suspects, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP say the shot was fired toward the property rep and they were uninjured.

The suspects took off in a vehicle which was spotted heading east on Mabel Lake Road in Enderby and was later abandoned near Mabel Lake. Officers established a perimeter in the rural area of Kingfisher.

"In responding to calls of this nature, our police officers want to ensure the safety of everyone involved," RCMP Inspector Kevin Keane said in the release. "Given the large geographical area and high-risk situation potentially involving firearms, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team has been brought in to assist with the search."

Police had requested people to stay away from the area while the search was underway and for local residents to make sure their doors were locked and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.

A man was eventually arrested but RCMP do not say what became of the other suspects from the grow op robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery at the medical cannabis production facility is asked to call the Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878.
