The Kelowna Regional RCMP, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, and North Shore and Rescue are searching for a missing snowboarder at Big White Ski Resort.
On Dec. 26 at approximately 5:10 p.m., the RCMP received a report of an overdue 42-year-old snowboarder from Kelowna.
The man had been out snowboarding with friends and was last seen at 1 p.m. at the Gem Lake Chair lift before his last run of the day.
The RCMP is working with Big White Ski Patrol and searchers. A search was conducted last night in the backcountry of Big White where the snowpack is unstable and a high-risk avalanche area but called off at 12:45 due to weather and poor visibility.
The search is resuming this morning to find the overdue snowboarder.
