Kamloops RCMP have released images from surveillance video in hopes identifying a suspect in a stabbing last weekend.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Tranquille Road in Kamloops at around 5:18 p.m. Saturday, April 15, after a man had been reportedly stabbed, according to an RCMP media release.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“As part of the ongoing investigation, police have obtained security video from the 400 block of Tranquille Road where the assault occurred, which includes an image of the suspect,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

“The assault was very deliberate and direct, and numerous people were present to witness it while it occurred."

RCMP describe the suspect as a male, 6' tall with a larger build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a blue or purple logo on the back, a ball cap under the hood of his jacket, a draw-string backpack, a face mask, white Nikes with a black strip up the back, and he was carrying a blue and black duffle bag.

Nearby business or home owners are asked to check their security cameras to look for additional images of the suspect.

Anyone with video, photos, or information related to this assault with a weapon investigation can contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-12807.
