Penticton RCMP are hoping to find out who is behind a shooting incident at a local motel early yesterday morning.
Officers responded to a call just before 10 a.m. yesterday, Jan. 18, when a report came in about shots fired behind the Flamingo Motel at 2387 Skaha Lake Rd., according to an RCMP press release.
When police arrived they found empty bullet casings in the alley and a bullet hole in a rear-facing window of the motel.

Officers determined that nobody was injured and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
"This was a very reckless act which involved someone discharging a firearm in a highly populated and busy area of the community which could have had devastating consequences,” Penticton RCMP Sgt. Andrew Baylis said in the release.
“We have engaged multiple specialized sections to assist in this on going investigation. Even though this occurred in a public area, we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public."
