RCMP looking for witnesses after gunfire heard in West Kelowna

RCMP are investigating after witnesses heard gunfire in West Kelowna last night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of Ross Road in West Kelowna just after 8 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 14, according to an RCMP media release.

Witnesses called police to report a blue car and white SUV speeding down Ross Road before the vehicles pulled into a gas station parking lot. The witnesses believed they heard gun shots fired before the vehicles sped away.

While officers quickly rushed into the area, they could not find the vehicles, RCMP said.

Officers are canvassing for witnesses and surveillance video today.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
