RCMP looking for witness in hit and run

An elderly man was sent to hospital this afternoon after a hit and run accident in West Kelowna.

The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Elliott Rd. near Churchill Rd. Police believe the 80-year-old was hit by a white Toyota Matrix that exited the Shell gas station located at the corner of Main St. and Elliot Rd. when it turned right onto Elliot. The car struck the man as it travelled east. The vehicle then fled the scene. 

 

The extent of the man's injuries are unknown. 

 

A woman who witnessed the incident left before police arrived. West Kelowna RCMP would appreciate the woman's assistance in the investigation.
