KELOWNA – Local RCMP are asking the public for help with two unsolved crimes that occurred this month.

On Feb. 9 the owner of an apartment complex in the 1900-block of Pandosy Street reported a break and enter after tenants reported finding cigarette burns on common area carpet.

Security footage shows a man use a tool to open the door and enter at 7:30 a.m. He went to the 6th floor and left 45 minutes later carrying two backpacks and a small BMX bicycle.

On the morning of Feb. 21 several vehicles were severely damaged near Postill Lake.

RCMP say someone got his truck stuck seven kilometres up Postill Lake Road and when a friend came to help, the second vehicle lost its transmission. Both trucks were left on the road overnight and the owners returned the next morning to find their windows had been smashed and all eight tires slashed.

Police believe the trucks were damaged after 3:30 a.m. because the remains of a burned 2015 GMC Sierra was found two kilometres away at the Postill Lake Road camping area. The owner of that vehicle says he left the area at 3:30 a.m. after a party.

If you know anything about these crimes call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit the website. Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.
