RCMP in Osoyoos would like to know who is dropping off small packages on the community's streets - and why.

Osoyoos RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda says in a media release small taped-up packages containing bits of paper, plastic and vinegar have been turning up throughout the town over the past few weeks.

RCMP have had several turned into them and have come across a number themselves.

“Although every package examined to date has been harmless, we remain committed to identifying who is discarding them and learning what their motive is,” Bayda said in the release.

Osoyoos RCMP would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could lead to those responsible.

If you have information you are asked to call the Osoyoos RCMP non-emergency line at 250-495-7236.
