Kelowna police officers are investigating after they received information about misconduct within a West Kelowna hockey organization.
The investigation is in regards to the Okanagan HC, which has three hockey teams within the Junior Prospect Hockey League, said Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Ryan (Sencar) Watters.
RCMP initiated the investigation after receiving information Nov. 3 about misconduct and it is being handled by the Kelowna Vulnerable Persons Section as it involves people under the age of 18, according to a RCMP media release.
Last month, the Junior Prospects Hockey League issued a statement on its Twitter page, and said the league will not "sit idle" after allegations were made of behaviours against the league's code of conduct.
The league said it has started its own investigation and will conduct audits of all teams and will comment once "we have concluded our findings."
