Kamloops RCMP have a 30-year-old man in custody after an early morning incident involving a large knife.

RCMP received a report at around 1:48 a.m. today, Nov. 26, from a victim who had been allegedly attacked by a man with a large knife in the area of 1 Avenue and Columbia Street, according to an RCMP media release.

The victim was able to escape without injury and called RCMP. The suspect fled the scene but was quickly located with the help of a police dog.

Police say this was an isolated incident with no further safety risk to the general public.

Jason Kyle Wolfe, born 1989, was charged with one count of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and disguising face with an intent to commit an offence, according to court documents. Wolfe remains in custody after appearing in Kamloops court today for a bail hearing.
