RCMP homicide team investigating suspicious death in Hope

FILE PHOTO

A 45-year-old Chilliwack man was found dead in Hope, and police believe his death is suspicious.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was sent to Hope after someone found a body in the 900-block of Old Hope Princeton Way on the evening of July 5, according to a press release from police.

When officers located the man’s body his death “appeared to be the result of a homicide,” and the homicide team took over the investigation.

“We are in the beginning stages of our investigation,” the homicide team’s Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said in the release. “We’re asking anyone with information to please come forward.”

Police are not revealing any further information about the victim since RCMP are still notifying his family members.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide team at 1-877-551-4448.
