A man and a woman face multiple charges following execution of a search warrant by Penticton RCMP’s street enforcement unit.

The unit began an in-depth investigation into a local drug trafficking operation on June 30, targeting individuals well known to police, according to an RCMP media release.

Police obtained a search warrant for a motel suite in the 2000 block of Skaha Lake Road where two suspects were residing.

Officers searched the suite on July 2 and found items related to drug trafficking, in addition to two firearms, one of which was loaded.

The Crown has since laid multiple charges against Samuel Prescott-Perreault, 32, and Paige Rise, 27.

"Our officers are committed to enforcing and preventing the sale of illegal drugs in our communities. This type of illegal activity will not be tolerated and our detachments continue to arrest and hold those who commit drug crimes accountable,” Penticton RCMP media relations officer Const. James Grandy said in the release.
