Police have arrested two men in connection to a Revelstoke home that was hit by Molotov cocktails this morning.

Revelstoke RCMP were called to a report of that unknown person or persons tossed Molotov style cocktails into a home located in the 1100-block of 4 Street East August 6 shortly before 3 a.m., according to an RCMP release.

The occupant of the home was able to extinguish the flames before they spread.

"Our front line RCMP officers responded to the scene and gathered evidence," Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a release. "As a result of the investigation and police tactics used, two men were taken into police custody without incident, after they allegedly returned to the arson scene approximately an hour later."

Both Revelstoke men, aged 36 and 34, are facing potential charges and remain in police custody at this time.

Police continue to secure the crime scene for further examination by forensic specialists with RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services.

Anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to contact the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255.
