RCMP arrest two drug dealers at Kelowna supportive housing complex

Kelowna RCMP searched a unit in a supportive housing complex Wednesday and arrested two people in a drug trafficking investigation.

Members of the Crime Reduction Unit searched a unit in the supportive housing complex in the 2000-block of Agassiz Road at around 11:45 a.m., Jan. 22, according to a press release from police.

Police made two arrests at Stephen Village which is operated by the John Howard Society.

“A collaborative investigation with the John Howard Society assisted officers in identifying one particular unit within the complex where the occupants are alleged to be trafficking illicit drugs,” RCMP Insp. Jason Charney said in the release.

“We’ve heard the concerns of our community members and it’s important for us to not only address these concerns, but target those who are supplying potentially toxic drugs directly to a considerably vulnerable population group. Our goal is to disrupt and deter crime in our community, and rest assured these types of projects will continue.”

RCMP did not identity the suspects arrested and said the investigation is ongoing.
