A 29-year-old man has been arrested in the Clinton area and charged with first degree murder in connection with the 2018 death of Jamie Sellars Baldwin.

RCMP say Wyatt Lee Boffa has now been formally charged with first degree murder. Boffa was arrested and taken into custody today, Dec. 6. Baldwin, 43, was a Deep Creek resident.

On Dec. 11, 2018 at approximately 9:35 p.m., RCMP responded to a residence on Mountain House Road in Williams Lake where they discovered an adult male dead on scene, according to an RCMP media release.

Police said at the time, the death was suspicious in nature.

"Major crime investigators have remained committed, to Baldwin’s family and the entire community, to piecing together the circumstances surrounding his sudden death," Williams Lake RCMP Insp. Jeff Pelley says in the release. "RCMP will continue to support the victim’s family, the community and the prosecution as the investigation begins to transition to the judicial process."

Boffa remains in police custody.

Although an arrest has been made, the police investigation continues. RCMP are still encouraging anyone with additional information on the homicide to speak with police.
